Article #10 - Generating a Data Capture from Print Control Utility

Instructions for generating a Data Capture from any I-O Print Server (PS) using the Print Control Utility (PCU).

1. Make sure no other print jobs will be sent to the printer while these instructions are in progress
2. On the AS/400 end the writer for the appropriate printer.
3. On the AS/400 start the writer for the appropriate printer.
4. Start the I-O Print Control Utility (PCU).
5. Highlight (do not double click) on the I-O PS.
6. From the PCU menu bar select Options.
7. Select Data Capture.
8. Select Browse.
9. On the right side of the screen navigate to a folder / directory where the I-O PCU will create a file.
10. On the top left give the file to be created a descriptive file name. Leave the .dmp extension as shown.
11. Select OK.
12. Select Start.
13. Send the file / job in question to print on the printer attached to the I-O PS.
14. After the file has finished being captured select stop.
