| Can I connect existing Twinax devices using Twisted Pair cabling to the 5794ip controller and if so, what if any limitations should I expect?
The 5794ip controller can connect and drive up to 14 Twinax devices when all devices are connected via actual Twinax cabling. However, due to the nature of the reverse polarity on the two different sides of the pigtail included with the 5794ip Controller, reflections on a twisted pair line will cause problems. The maximum number of devices the 5794ip controller will support is 7. When configuring the controller with a star panel/ twisted pair configuration, select the Enable Star Panel Support option in the Configuration Utility and this will limit your connection to Line 1. |
